The CSU East Bay Institute for STEM Education assists with the administration of STEM programs and activities on campus. The Institute for STEM Education is composed of four key entities (Board of Directors, External Advisory Board, Institute Staff, and Affiliated Faculty).
The Board of Director’s is composed of the two Deans and university faculty who represent different departments within the College of Education and Allied Studies and the College of Science, and the Institute Director.
Development of an External Advisory Board is in progress. The External Advisory Board will be composed of financial supporters and representatives from partnering institutions.
The Institute for STEM Education also serves as the centralized administration for related centers such as the Center for Math Education and Research (CMER) and Center for Science Education and Research (CSER).
Institute Staff assist with the implementation of grants and programs, and also assist with organizing STEM outreach events. Also, staff assists with developing and maintaining partnerships with a wide range of community stakeholders (such as businesses and non-profits working in STEM, community colleges, and county offices of education).
